iMore Question

If I rip a cd on WMP in a WAV format to my USB then I insert that USB in my MacBook and transfer the WAV music files to iTunes and create ALAC version, will it take more or less space than itunes bought music? And will it sound better or worse or the same?

Long story short, don’t do this.

If you rip a CD to WAV, converting it to ALAC will not make it sound better, it will sound exactly the same as the WAV version.
Music bought from iTunes comes in m4a file format, that’s evidently smaller in size than WAV and ALAC, so yes, the ALAC version will take much more space than the iTunes version.
