So I’m about to spend some money and need some advice.

I already settled in my head the battle of iMAC VS IMAC PRO. I’m going to buy an iMac because I just don’t have the need for the iMac Pro. The only thing I really do is make YouTube video, blog, and I’m looking forward to Vr support.

I’ve decided to go with the 4.2 quad core 5k iMac. My questions comes with which hard drive do I need.

I have a 2tb lacie external for extra, but found that the 512 ssd on my MacBook Pro just wasn’t enough space.

I have about 35 gigs of photos. I don’t do much gaming on my Mac but looking to use the vive once it is released.

Only hold up is the price. SSD is so expensive.

Has anyone used the new fusion drive? I hear it’s faster.

Currently I’m using a 2015 maxed out MacBook Pro.

Thoughts on which hard drive I should go with. Will the speed be that obvious? I would need at least 1TB. Is it worth the price?

An iMac lasts 5 years or more for some people. If you take that in consideration, you’ll agree with me that the faster drive will be the obvious option here. You may not see the advantage today or a year from now but you definitely will.

I buy new computers every 2 years or so.

I know it will be better, but dang it’s expensive. I’m just trying to get over the price of the ssd.
