Can I port my number from a Verizon postpaid plan to a prepaid plan?

I need to get my own phone plan, and from what I've read, prepaid plans are cheaper than postpaid plans. The plan my number's currently on is a Verizon postpaid plan, and so naturally I hope to get a Verizon prepaid plan. I need to keep my same number, and so my question is: can I port my number from a Verizon postpaid plan to a prepaid plan? (What I've read has been unclear.)

Hi Blankford13!

From my understanding, yes you can. However, there are some factors you need to consider. IE, does your number have remaining payments on a device left? I don't believe they can transfer those to a prepaid account so you would be billed for the ETF (they handle prepaid entirely differently since you would be getting a new Verizon account number). Something to keep in mind!
