Why won't my iPhone 5s turn on properly?

I

iMore Question

Everytime I turn my phone on it shows that the battery is dead. As soon as I plug it up, the apple logo shows up indicating that the phone is turning on. At the part where my lock screen is suppose to show up, a black screen appears instead. Then the phone will cut right back off and the process will start back over again. What do I do?? I've tried rebooting it using the iTunes process but that won't work either. Please help!!

Sounds like it might be time for a trip to the Apple Genius bar. The 5s is fairly old so there might be an issue with the battery or the charging circuitry
