I currently have this outdated Apple Macbook:
    Hardware Overview:

    Model Name: MacBook
    Model Identifier: MacBook5,2
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processor Speed: 2 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
    L2 Cache: 3 MB
    Memory: 4 GB

I am working on starting a non-profit biz and would like to purchase a more current Apple laptop with Apple Care support. Is refurbished the way to go or can I get a new one for <$1,000? What hardware should I make sure I have? Where can I buy such a laptop and still get Apple Care?

A refurbished MacBook Pro would be the way to go, in my opinion, but an iPad Air model may be sufficient, depending on your needs.
