setting up account as trainer club

I just downloaded pokemon go..how do you create account as trainer club vs google? I do not have username /passw and will not let me register. Do you have to have full internet access to play??
This is on a 6 yr olds ipad with limited internet access. How do I sign up?

You do need internet access to play and if you want to create a trainer club account you can do so from the Pokemon.com site.
