I bought an iPad at a moving/yard sale

Iand now the people are gone where i bought it from, its locked am not sure if it is stolen or just locked, it said it just needed to be plugged into itunes when I bought it and turned it o, I was having problems with my computer at the time I couldn't install itunes, I finally did the compete factory reset/restore it is locked to an account. So am I burned is there anything I can do?

Welcome to iMore! Unfortunately the previous owner is the only person who can remove the activation lock. If you're unable to get a hold of him, I'm afraid you're out of luck.
