Why is my caller volume so low

I don't want anyone to tell me to turn my volume up cause it's up and for some reason when someone calls my phone and I'm listening well trying to listen I have to put my phone on speaker just to hear the other person I've made sure all my volumes are up in my settings but I can still barely hear anyone calling me at the highest volume it gives me

have you by anychance dropped/spilled/nocked something on the device if not i would suggest booking an appointment with the apple store to see if they can get to the bottom of the problem
