How do I fix a Calendar setting that defaults meeting requests to "No"

When I receive a electronic meeting request, it automatically responds to the Sender that I'm declining the invitation, before I ever have a chance to respond. How do I fix that?

Define "electronic meeting request" in the context you're using it. If you are simply referring to calendar invites then I'm unaware of a setting that automatically declines the invitation. By the way, on what device is this occurring and with what Calendar app?
