Why will the music from my iPhone not play on my Bluetooth speaker even though it is connected?

i have deleted my Bose mini Bluetooth speaker from my iPhone 5 and then added it back on. After ensuring everything is connected I am still unable to get any sound from the speaker when I play music from my iPhone, even though all appears to be connected.

This might be silly, but check the volume level on the phone and speaker.
