Can I Remove the ESC key From the Touch Bar

I love my new MacBook Pro, and for the most part I like the Touch Bar. That being said, I absolutely HATE the new ESC key. I'm constantly hitting it by accident and losing work. That never happened to me when it was an actual keyboard key on previous MacBooks. Is there any way to disable ESC and then call it up in the rare instance that I need it?

If u could u wouldn't be able to force quit apps without bringing up the Activity Monitor.
