    Very annoying. If it can't be disabled or Apple won't make it a separate keyboard feature, PLEASE move the $%@&^$# key to another less intrusive location. Hate it.

    No worries, in iOS 10.2 they are gonna solve it.
    I'm running the beta and the normal keyboard appears when going landscape.
    You will get an option for handwriting. See image:
