How to reset my previously jailbroken iphone 5s

Here's the situation: I tried to "erase all content and settings" on my jailbroken iPhone in order to restore it then update it. It was stuck on the Apple logo so I held power button and home button until iTunes logo showed up. Being plugged up to my computer this whole time my phone is finally recognized by the computer. I then select that I want to restore it and update it but it keeps saying that my session has timed out after about 30 minutes. I've repeated this several times and the same thing keeps happening. How can I reset and update my iPhone

You have to put your phone in DFU mode and restore in iTunes.
