iOS 10 crash by video

Hi everyone

I got my new iPhone 7 a few days ago. Today a friend of mine sent me a short 5 sec video which made my lockscreen freeze and after 5 minutes my iPhone 7 restarted itself. I took approximately 15% of the battery charge and the phone surface became really hot.

Has anyone made a similar experience?
May that be a virus or is it harmless?

Welcome to iMore! It was probably just a software glitch. If it ever happens again you can reset your device by holding the power button and home button down (or volume down button on iPhone 7/7+) simultaneously until you see the Apple boot logo.

Yeah, there was a text message with a similar effect for iOS 7 or 8 I believe... so you might be right.
