iMore Question

My iPhone is being replaced via insurance. If the company sends me a phone other than a replacement for iPhone 6 can I still use it to restore my contents?

Welcome to iMore.

If you are talking about possibly getting a 6s or 7, it should not be a problem. If you are getting an Android, iTunes will be of no help to you.

I think it doesn't matter what model of iPhone you use. You just need to use your iCloud accout to restore your content.

It doesn't matter which model of iPhone as long as the replacement device is capable of running the version of iOS used to create the backup or newer. For example, if the backup was made with a 6s running iOS 10 and the user is trying to restore onto an iPhone 4s (which can't run iOS 10) it won't work. The likelihood of OP's replacement being a 4s is probably pretty low though.
