How do I filter Apple News in iOS10

I

iMore Question

I used to like Apple News on iOS 9 its news paper like format with news stories in almost timeline order.
I could select the sites from which I I wanted to see news stories and filter out the sites I do not care for.
Now all I can do is "unheart" articles.

So my question is how do I get rid of the news sites I do not want to see? "Unhearting" seems to do nothing. I still get the same type of trash stories from the same sites coming up.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you. I can now do that on the iPhone app. However the iPad app it does not work on for me. Is there a different way of doing it on the iPad.

Thank you :)

Not that I'm aware of, but I'll turn on my iPad Pro soon and find out.

Update: the option is indeed available on the iPad/iPad Pro. Instead of swiping on the news article, you tap the icon depicting a bot with the arrow pointing upward (there's one next to every article therein). Afterwards, you can choose the "Mute Channel" option. You can also arrange the order of the options to your liking.
