the same apple chord, will charge in the house, or computer, but when plugged into car usb will not charge. message on car screen reads- reading usb

First thing I wold check is to see if you have any dirt in the car usb. It may not be making a proper connection to the cable. Second I would try a different cable. Just a couple of suggestions.
