Why does ios mail act differently under ios 10.0.1

iMore Question

I have been using Ios 10.0.1 Beta on the ipad air 2 for a couple of weeks. On Friday, September 23, i received notification that I could now move to the public version.

I followed the instructions, as closely as I could, but had many problems with the use of Itunes including making a backup of my operating system. However by a process of trial and error, I was able to download the new ios 10.0.1 public beta, but it was not easy.

Since then, I backed up my ipad ios on icloud and I began using the device to receive emails, as I do normally, using the ios mail app with an icloud a/c, 2 gmail a/cs, and a Thunderbird a/c.

The whole structure of the inboxes has changed. I have lost easy access to my main gmail a/c, which I use to classify and label incoming emails into gmail categories like: FOR FUTURE REVIEW, FOR ARCHIVING, FOR GROUPING AS SUBJECT A, B, C, D, etc.
I have developed a comprehensive classification structure that faciliates my handling of several hundred emails daily.

My questions are:
1. could this behaviour have been caused by the implementation of IOS 10.0.1?
2. If so, is there a fix?
3. Can I expect to go back to Ios 9 for a fix?
