Safari stuck and cannot change

Safari has got stuck in a loop and I am not sure how to get out of it - assume I need to reset it somehow but not sure how and if that may then delete all my information stored on the phone?

Hold the power and home button down until the Apple screen appears and then release. No you will not loose any information on your device.

Try to restart the phone.
