How long can photos be recovered for?

I deleted some personal photos from my iphone about 8months ago, and I've now traded it in for an upgrade. They were deleted from a keepsafe app and emptied from its bin, plus it was then uninstalled. Would someone who bought my old phone have been able to recover them? If so, at what point would they not be able to?

The new owner would have to already have a lot of your information, have prior knowledge that the photos had been on the device at some point, and be REALLY good at hacking, and even then it's impossible.
