iPhone not alerting me about messages?

Basically, my iphone won't alert me when i get a message on messenger or whatsapp, it's perfectly fine with the regular messages and i don't know what to do..I tried reseting my network settings and it was suppose to help but it's the same. First i thought that there is a problem with the whatsapp app but then the messenger didn't notify me to and push notifications and all that stuff is turned on and Do Not Disturb button is off, basically everything is in it's order..it's irritaring me so much and i see those messages only when i open the app..any help would be appreciated

Welcome to iMore! Do you have notifications set up properly in Settings > Notifications? This is what mine look like for Messenger:

Try toggling Allow Notifications off and then back on. Notifications have a tendency to bug out for me every so often and that sometimes fixes the problem.
