I am currently using an iPad Mini 3 and was considering upgrading to an iPad Pro 9.7. The main thing that I do is a lot of reading on my current iPad. Should I wait to see what they are going to do with the iPad Mini first? Just not wanting to make any hasty decisions. I purchased the large iPad and took it back before I purchased the iPad Mini 3. What would be your feedback? Thanks

Do you need the larger screen? (and if so would an iPad Air work) Do you need the multitasking, multi apps on the screen running at once (this is the main thing the Pro has over the Air) You should be able to recoup some value for your iPad mini 3 via a 3rd party auction site, or from a reseller like Gazelle for example, so that will offset your cost.

The iPad Air would not have enough storage for me. I use audible, Overdrive, iBooks, NOOK, and KINDLE apps for reading and listening to books. Plus, not counting my church apps and Bible apps that I use on a regular basis and I love using the Parallel Bible so that I have more than just one version. Between three ebook apps, I have over 10,000 ebooks. Also, the iPad Mini 3 would be passed on to my parents and they would give me some cash to pay down on the new iPad.

Welcome to iMore Tortia7! Glad you decided to join us! Yes sounds like you will need ample storage, so the largest mini (128) or the Pro 128 or 256 WOULD be in order. Passing on to the folks is a good plan. My Dad gets much of my older tech too!
