I have about 50Gb of data I store on Dropbox and share folders with work colleagues. We all use .docx and .xlsx data and when I last looked at iCloud it was basically just a backup and share system with all my Apple devices and definitely not a Dropbox replacement.

Have things changed with iCloud Drive? Can I save a Word or Excel file straight to an iCloud Drive folder just like in Dropbox?
    Many thanks

Is iCloud Drive a Dropbox replacement? Not in my opinion, and no, you cannot save a Word doc directly to iCloud Drive - at least not from the Word app on an iPhone, from what I can tell.

No. iCloud Drive is not like Dropbox at all.
