Before iOS 9, if u cleared history in browser... U could still find it

U could still find it settings>safari>advanced>website data. Now it gets deleted there as well. Is there a place to see web history after it gets deleted in browser?

I haven't had the need to look up my history in settings as I haven't deleted my history in years.

I used to go there and delete certain ad stuff. I don't recall it like the OP says. Whenever I went to Settings > Safari > clear history and website data, it also cleared the advanced > website data. I did this many times prior to iOS 9. And to my knowledge, there's no way to see the website data if it's been cleared. It's always been that way.

Pretty sure when you clear it, it's cleared. Otherwise there are a lot of people who think they've covered their tracks when the data still exists on the phone?
