Why is i phone battery draining so fast?

my i phone was charged with 100 percent battery..and overnight it drains by 30 percent..data connection was off....light was dim..no vibration..no ringtone...

it's really bad to see that the charge going to dry within few hours.

Did a lot of emails come in? Or notifications? Push notifications use a lot of battery. Also location services and screen brightness. Those are the big 3 battery eaters.

With data being off, it's hard to say what caused it. I would give it a try again tonight, but before bed take a look at the battery panel in settings and note the percentages (maybe take a screen shot) and then see how they look in the a.m.
