How do I move photos currently on my iPad ios 9 to iCloud drive?

I have iCloud Drive enabled and on my home screen. I am using the free version with 5gb space. In my Photos app I have 200 photos and videos that I want to move to iCloud Drive and then delete from the iPad (16gb Air 2) to free up space. How do I do this? I can find out everything about iCloud Drive on the net apart from this.

PS I don't want every photo automatically uploaded to iCloud

You can install an app like Goodreader, create a folder for your pics via the app, and then copy/move the pics in your camera roll over to that folder. From there, you can save those pics to the iCloud Drive.
