    my songs on Apple Music worked perfectly before. when my trial ended, I bought my subscription. that's when the songs that played before became gray and still won't play.

    I wish I had an answer for you but I haven't had this issue. You might want to contact Apple support for assistance.

    Be sure these are not songs with explicit content. If they are, do this:
    Open up the Settings application from your Home Screen.
    Navigate to the General category.
    Go to Restrictions, and enter your Passcode to access the menu.
    Select Enable Restrictions
    Go down to the Allowed Content subsection.
    Go to Music, Podcasts, and iTunes U and turn "explicit" on.
