How can i fix my AUX?

I've bought a car stereo and it has an aux jack so I've plugged in my iphone 4s and nothing happened. I got out my voltmeter an found out that someone has connected the aux so it had 12V on it and I've burned my aux on the phone so now I'm wondering how to fix that would it work if i would just replace the aux module or is it a more serious problem on the mother board.
