Turn off orientation lock in settings or bring up the control center and tap the lit up icon that looks like you're describing.
It locks the screen to portrait view, so it won't be going to landscape view.
Here you go.
Be sure to download the iOS 9.3 user guide from the app store. It contains all of the icons you'd see on the status bar and tells you what all of them are. An invaluable guide that goes over pretty much everything about the OS.
Link?
If you already had the 9.2 guide then it should already be updated on your phone. Here's the link just in case you don't have it;

It is. But I don't see it in the App Store. Where does one look in the App Store for it? Lol I have the link. But it just goes to download.
If you have it already installed, for some odd reason it doesn't show up in the app store.
You got yours in the App Store? I got my link at another site. Where in the App Store was it?
I don't recall. I found it the day I got my phone. It may have been a targeted ad on the main page of the app store app when I opened it. I generally never install anything unless it's from the app store.
OK. I was just curious because I never saw it in the App Store. Except when I downloaded it.
