how to do audio call with facetime for ipad? camera comes on immediately as soon as I open facetime

when i touch facetime icon, the menu to choose video/audio call flashes and disappears before i have time to select video, and the camera comes on. How do i get back to bringing up that selection menu to either face time with video or audio?

Welcome to iMore! If your cursor is flashing in the box where you enter the info of the person you want to talk too, just hit Cancel beside it and the options of video or audio will reappear.
