Does the Fitbit Charge work with an iPod Touch?

i have an ipod touch I think either 4th or 5th generation. I heard about FitBit charge. But concern is wifi. we only have wifi in our home. not on phone or ipod touch or whenever we go we don't have wifi.

My daughter syncs her Fitbit Flex with her iPod touch so I don't see why it would be any different with a Charge.
