How can I set up group texts on my iPhone4

I need to text upwards of 30 people and I would like to have them in a groupso that i don't have to add them individually. What does 'favourites ' do

If you have a Mac, just open the Contacts app, and then select File→ New Group, and then enter the group members. The results will sync to your iOS devices, if applicable. Favorites are the people you consider your favorite people.
