My husband and I have iPhone 6. When we are home together, if one phone rings, the other will too. It's like they're linked together. Also, when someone texts me, my husband receives it too and when he responds, it appears to be me answering.

Welcome to iMore! Are you using the same Apple ID? You need a separate Apple ID.
You can share the iTunes ID, but you need separate iCloud, iMessage and Facetime ID's.

Sharing the same iTunes ID allows you to share purchases so you don't pay twice. Also, a separate iCloud ID gives you both 5 free gb of iCloud storage, rather than sharing 5 gb.
