Verizon transferred my data from iPhone 5 to iPhone 6s. Old phone has been wiped. Notes "on my iPhone" are missing.
    Any way to retrieve these?
    Thank you.

    Welcome to iMore, Leslie!

If you go to the top left of your notes do you have any buttons or text to tap up there? When I go back all the way I get taken to a screen like the one below (I'm on the latest iOS 9 release). Do you see any of that?

Your notes should have come across when they restored your device. Is there any chance you had them on iCloud? (If not I'd enable it now for safe keeping). Go to Settings -> iCloud and enable Notes there.

Good luck, and enjoy your new iPhone 6s

One other thing. If the old phone hasn't been wiped I would suggest enabling iCloud on it to sync the notes. Any chance you still have that phone and a backup of it if your notes don't show up on your new phone?
