A pop up on my iPad Air keeps informing me that my storage is nearly full

Welcome to iMore! What, exactly, does the pop up say? Is it phone storage, iCloud storage, or does it say memory? All 3 are different.

Phone storage:
You can delete apps you don't use. Delete music you don't need. Delete messages you don't need to keep. Photos and videos you can upload to cloud based apps like Box and Dropbox. Then delete from the camera roll.
iCloud storage:
Doing some if the above will help your back up storage in iCloud. Before doing a back up, try to clear as much as possible from the phone. That includes app cache and messages.
Memory:
This is RAM. IOS manages RAM very well. But you can swipe some apps out of multitasking. Do those that may be eating up the RAM. I know Facebook, Twitter and others are bad about running in the background too much.
