How do I get my new emails to show up on the main screen? They used to do that and now they don't

In my settings under mail, contacts, calendars I have my yahoo email account listed just as before when new emails used to show up. I think they stopped showing up after I did the most recent update, but not sure.

When you say main screen, I take it you mean Home Screen? if so, go to Settings > Notifications and check the settings for each mail account separately. You can have mails show up as banners at the top of your screen, as alerts across the middle of your screen and in your Notification panel when the screen is locked, or when you swipe down from the top of the screen.
