Do I have to have an iPhone in order to use the Watch?

I got a watch and can't set it up because I don't have the iPhone is that the only way to use it

Yes you need an iPhone in order to set it up and run most apps as the two are companion devices at this point in time, the watch has some "stand alone" apps now but as far as I can remember the iPhone is a must to set it up and run most apps, that's how mine is anyway. I'm sure someone else can chime in with more complete info

Yeah, you have to have an iPhone (specifically at least a 5) to do the initial setup. It doesn't even work as a watch without it. I bought my watch about a month before my 6s+ got to me and that whole time it just sat on my desk, teasing me :(

If you have a friend with an iPhone, you can do the initial setup with that and it then has a few basic features that work without an iPhone but if you are not an iPhone user, I definitely don't recommend keeping the watch.
