    I will be working outside in possibly -10 degrees - how is best
    to keep my iPad warm and functioning - it is in a strong rubber
    case at the moment

    You could buy a padded zipper case to keep it in while its idling along with a hand warmer pouch in an outside zip pocket

    Apple lists the normal temperature operating range for the iPad as 32 95 F. While using the device below the freezing point may cause the screen to lag a bit, it will still function.
