Welcome to iMore! If you're having an issue with your Calendar app force closing, there are a few things you can try:

    1. Double tap the home button to bring up the app switcher, then swipe upward on the Calendar app to force close it.
    2. If that doesn't solve your problem try a hard reset by holding both the power button and home button down until you see the Apple boot logo.
    3. If your Calendar app is still experiencing issues at this point, either use a third party app like Fantastical or restore your iPad. I recommend using iTunes to restore as it reinstalls iOS, which could be at the root of the problem. Detailed instructions for restoring through iTunes can be found here: How to restore your iPhone or iPad with iTunes | iMore.
