The email screen is frozen on my iphone 5 after updating to iOS - how do I fix it/

I know that email is working because I am getting it on my lap top and I can hear the incoming email alert on y iphone

Welcome to iMore! Have you tried a soft reset? To perform a soft reset, hold both the power button and home button down until you see the Apple boot logo. If that doesn't work you may want to run a restore.
