Is iCloud Drive Storage optimised?

Is iCloud Drive Storage optimised (on El Cap) like iCloud Photo library. In other words will is show representations of the files and pull them down if needed (when HD starts filling up)?

Yes, you can select "Optimize Mac Storage" on your mac in the Photos app preferences.

They are referring to the files (documents etc) in iCloud Drive. Not the photos and movies.

I had a look around on the net for you but everything has dialogue around just photos and videos within iCloud photo, so I'm not sure.

Would be great if it did.
