Sync them with iCloud. On your phone, go to Settings > Mail, Contact, Calendar and enable Contacts under your first iCloud account...

Then do the same with the iPad...

Along with the 2 answers given on both devices scroll to iCloud and make sure you are signed in on both devices and wouls=d suspect you are not on the 6+ and why you are not getting your contacts from the cloud.
