    I made a mistake and removed my map icon off of the home page. Where did it go?

    Use Spotlight and search for it. Pull down on an empty space on your home screen and enter Maps in the search box. You will see a list of apps that match the Maps string, and the folder that it got moved to will be listed on the right side of that screen. If there is no folder listed, then it is not in a folder, but perhaps on another page of apps.
