IPhone5c after activating and powering back on,lines running down my screen,and now nothing!

I just bought a used Iphone5c,it looks excellent,I put it on the charger and powered it on.I called and got it activated,the man told me to turn my Iphone off then back on and make a call.I turned it off then turned it back on and there were lines running down my screen,then everything went black.Now it will not come on at all,the screen is black.Can anyone give me any advice as to what may have happened?

Try powering off and restarting the phone again...

Where did you buy it from? That sounds like the display cable may not have been seated properly. Did they have to repair this device? I'd suggest contacting who sold you, and tell them the situation. I hope you didn't just buy it off CL in cash... If you did, you may have to shell out more money to get it fixed.
