SD Card as a Time Machine/SuperDuper backup?

I

iMore Question

Anyone ever use a SD card in their MacBookPro as a TimeMachine backup or used as a SuperDuper clone target? I always used external drives for such purposes but new MacBookPro for work has me wondering if the SD slot would work for backup use. I always have a more than one back up so I am covered from the "what if it's stolen or what if you spill coffee all over it" scenarios. Thanks much in advance!

I've never done TM or SuperDuper! backups to an SD card, but both programs recognize an SD card in my rMBP as targets for the backups. YMMV

Of course, a backup on an SD in your MBP won't help in the "what if it's stolen" scenario... the card is gone with the MBP.
