How do i get my iPhone 5S to back up?

I received a message to update once plugged in and on WiFi - how do I activate the update manually?

To backup - on computer, open iTunes... on the device tab, hit 'Backup'...with the phone connected to computer or not... or to iCloud backup, Settings>> iCloud>> Backup>> Backup now...

Update - Settings>> General>> Software Update... or - connect to iTunes/computer via cable and update that way.
