Have a chance to buy an iphone that was used on verizon network. Am I able to use it on cricket which runs off of att? Some places online say verizon is unlocked already while others say not.

You should probably call Cricket Wireless and verify.

If it is an LTE phone. Otherwise, it's not unlocked.

Yes you can use a Verizon iPhone with Cricket. I passed my 5S to a friend's god daughter & she uses it with Cricket.

Just be aware that if it is an iPhone 4 or iPhone 4s from Verizon, you will not be able to use it on a GSM carrier in the US.

I couldn't imagine using a non LTE smartphone on verizon so yes, you're correct.

The iPhone 4 and 4S were/are "non LTE" on Verizon.

Verizon phones are GSM unlocked because of this particular language in the 47CFR 27.16 published by the FCC during the 700MHz auction.

No licensee may disable features on handsets it provides to customers, to the extent such features are compliant with the licensee's standards pursuant to paragraph (b) of this section, nor configure handsets it provides to prohibit use of such handsets on other providers' networks.
