Why is Whatsapp crashing after update?

Hi,
I have an iPhone 6 and have just updated Whatsapp at the App Store. Now, every time I try to open Whatsapp, it crashes instantly. I have tried uninstalling, then reinstalling, but still it crashes each time. I have tried Googling the problem, but most articles blame the Facebook app, which I do not have.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to iMore. I just checked my WhatsApp, and it's working great. Is your year trial over? After the trial period it's .99 cents for the year.

Try reinstalling it , should work
