Why do I not have service after replacing a broken iPhone with a new one? I restored from a backup.

I backed up the old iPhone 5s and then restored the new iPhone 5s (overpaid for replacement through Asurion - not really the point). All my contacts and pictures, etc. are on the new phone. However, I can't use it because it shows "no service". How do I get service so I can make calls on my new phone?

Did you take the SIM out of the old phone at install it in the new one? Asurion devices are sent with clear instructions on activation... did you follow them?
