Old photos imported into Photo have corrupt dates e.g. 2035. How do I correct this?

All Photos imported from my iPhoto albums have been assigned dates. Many of these are clearly wrong, some set in the future and some scanned images have recent dates when the images were first created in the 1940's

Log into the iCloud website and see if those photos have the correct dates on them. If so, logout of iCloud on your Mac and then log back in.
